Deafgard is an innovative, wire-free alarm listening device which ensures that deaf and hard of hearing people can recognise a fire alarm at all times.
Deafgard incorporates a wire-free, battery-powered, acoustically-triggered bedside unit that incorporates a high-intensity strobe.
A connected vibrator pad is placed under the pillow allowing your guest or resident to sleep as normal. When Deafgard hears the fire alarm the under-pillow pad vibrates whilst the activated flashing strobe provides the complementary visual indicator. The result is an immediate and effective motion and visual trigger signal that the fire alarm is sounding, allowing the indivudal to leave the building to safety with plenty of time to spare.
Deafgard offers the latest wire-free technology to ensure a safe, reliable and portable solution for communicating the sounding of the alarm to all guests whose hearing is impaired.
The Deafgard system ensures full compliance with DDA recommendations and it is designed to respond to a fire alarm installed in conformity with the British Standard 5839 Part 1.
